• Lives in a false utopia world that diverges from our timeline post-WWII


• Family connections are severed to prevent violence, children raised by "care-takers", all memories prior to age 10 erased


• Traveled around the world to study art in different places


• Eventually took a job at an Institute that "treats" people who catch their interest/people that are a potential danger to society, to "study people, as if they were paintings"


• Saw her best friend (Oleta) from childhood and remembered her, remembers nothing else from before she was 10


• Kind of stalked her??? mostly in that "happens to be in the same public places that Oleta routinely goes to" way, trying to rekindle their relationship and get Oleta to remember her


• Mistakes Oleta remembering and getting close to her sister for a romantic relationship


• Chooses Oleta to be brought to the Institute for study, a decision she very quickly regrets


• Hester is given an assignment of recording "guided meditation" tapes for her, uses them to give Oleta coded instructions for escaping


• Also uses them to tell Oleta of their shared past, to explain herself, and to just be really gay at her


• Eventually loses her cool and rushes the escape, causing Oleta to get caught and moved to higher security. The tapes then become about surviving the "treatments" while Hester continues to orchestrate their escape


• Canonly, it works out and Oleta is (to our best knowledge) freed, but for this game, they are caught during their escape and taken back to the Institute and studied to discover how their rebellion can be quelled, eventually dying

PERSONALITY:

• Cool-headed, meticulous, polite, speaks circuitously and poetically even when she's not speaking under guise of a "meditation tape"


• Has kept no close relationships as an adult, especially since seeing Oleta again


• Very analytical, but also sentimental


• Makes poor life choices when emotional, and Oleta makes her very emotional

SKILLS: Baseline human. Capable of extremely detailed planning, giving audio instructions with timing that must be exact down to the second.
